Drama & Theatre
The course is designed to provide a progression route to higher education and further training for employment. It is recognised by Universities as well as Accredited Drama Schools and Colleges. It is also an acceptable subject within a combination for most Arts degrees, being particularly favoured when applying for English, Media and Film Studies, Education, Communication based studies and
courses demanding a high level of self-confidence, initiative and independent study.
You should have a genuine commitment to theatre and be prepared to read and research independently and to take part in activities outside normal College hours as well as to visit the theatre regularly. A grade C or above in Drama at GCSE or a Merit/Distinction at BTEC level 2 offers a good foundation, but it is not essential to have studied Drama at KS4 for entry onto this course although some relevant experience in the Performing Arts is advantageous.
