Perspectives on Science

Perspectives on Science

The Perspectives on Science Extended Project (EP) provides a great opportunity to enrich any student’s experience at Bodmin. You do not need to be studying science at A Level, but you should enjoy discussing, debating, researching and thinking! Universities (including the Russell group) are keen that students have had opportunities like the EP, because it is felt that they provide a realistic representation of how students at university are frequently required to work. A good grade in this course helps tremendously when applying to university. More importantly it tends to be a course that students enjoy and is a great preparation for life at university and work.

Perspectives on Science (PoS) began as an innovative AS level in the History, Philosophy and Ethics of Science. Now it is offered as a designed programme within the Level 3 Extended Project. This is equivalent in size, status and UCAS points to half an A level.
