This course provides a grounding for students who wish to make a career in the scientific field and/or disciplines such as health care. You may choose to continue your studies in a wide range of further or higher education courses. Future employment opportunities include chemical production, physiotherapy, radiology, nursing, hospital laboratories or various forms of engineering.
Applied Science is about scientists and how they work. Science surrounds us in the technological world in which we live. You will build up your scientific knowledge and skills to learn about the uses of science to the benefit of all – covering aspects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
You are expected to have a genuine interest in the subject and a GCSE grade C is a minimum requirement to ensure that the demands that this course will impose can be met. You need to be aware that attendance at teaching sessions is mandatory in order to cover the knowledge and significant course work elements required in this syllabus.
