A Message From Our Student Council

At Bodmin College, students are encouraged to enjoy themselves, whilst also studying hard to achieve their potential. Our Sixth Form Council is here to voice your opinions and improve quality of provision both for ourselves and for future generations of young people.

As a self-governing body elected by the students for the students, we meet monthly with the Principal of the College, the Director of the Sixth Form and the Assistant Head of Sixth Form in order to enable the effective communication of student ideas for events and improvement. Throughout the last academic year, our influence was quite significant in improving the atmosphere and physical environment of the Sixth Form with new furniture, a coffee bar and an increased number of laptops for students’ personal use.

Our role also involves organising events such as the Leavers’ Ball, Freshers’ Parties and the numerous fundraising activities that occur on a regular basis throughout the year, as well as playing a prominent role as Ambassadors at Open Evenings and mentors for the international students who enrol at the College.

Our Sixth Form College and experience is what we make it, so we aim to make it the very best we can through encouraging you all to participate as a Council Member or, if that is not for you, then through providing us with ideas and inspiration.

We very much hope you choose Bodmin College Sixth Form, it’s a fantastic place to study with lots of extra opportunities and inspiring teachers.
