Ultra Marathon for Black Lives Matter
Four 6th Form students from Bodmin College have completed a 35-mile Ultramarathon to raise both money and awareness for the Black Lives Matter movement. Dominic Hill, Mia Rowe, Maya KC Cotton and Jasmine Spencer, all in year 12, walked and part-ran the Ultramarathon on Tuesday 9th June across some of Bodmin Moor’s most challenging terrain.
It will be an exciting time for five Bodmin College students over the next couple of weeks as they have all secured interviews at either Oxford or Cambridge universities. This is the first time that 100% of Oxbridge applicants from the school have all received interviews. There is a real breadth of courses applied for as well. Students and staff at Bodmin College are celebrating unprecedented A-Level result success as this year’s cohort recorded a 96% pass rate in over 55different courses with 20 subjects achieving over 80% A*-C grades or equivalent. Particularly exceptional A Level results were seen in Chemistry, Fine Art, Music, Physics, Psychology, Spanish and Extended Project, with outstanding success .....
Year 12 Business Trip
The week after half term Mrs Hewitt (Head of Business Studies) took 4 Year 12 students to City College Plymouth as part of the Next Steps programme. The students got a tour of the facility, met current degree students and the degree course leader whom they had many questions about courses available and links with organisations. They also got to use some business simulation .....
Hong Kong 2019
Year 12 and 13 students have recently returned from a very successful trip to Hong Kong. Twelve 6th form students visited HK over February half term and described the trip as amazing and a really enriching experience. Many of the students had never visited Asia before and found the trip to be a real eye-opener. With a limited time frame we packed as much as possible into the 6 days .....
Cornwall Secondary Showcase
Talented young actors joined together to tell the stories of Women in Cornwall at this year’s Cornwall Secondary Drama showcase held at AMATA Falmouth University.
